Specified Items Cover: Enhance Your Travel Insurance Protection

Planning a trip? Whether you're exploring locally or venturing abroad, having the right travel insurance can be important. If you're carrying particularly valuable items like electronics, jewellry, or cameras, you might consider customising your coverage.

What is Specified Items Cover?

This optional add-on allows you to insure individual items that are worth more than the per item luggage limit. For instance, if you have an item worth $2,000, but your plan only covers individual items up to $500, you can specify that item and pay an additional premium to have it covered for its full value.

Available with Select Cover

This option is available for various plans under both Everyday Domestic and Everyday International Travel Insurance policies:

  • Domestic: Comprehensive Domestic and Standard Domestic plans

    • International: Comprehensive, Frequent Traveller, and Standard plans

Limits

  • Maximum individual specified item limit: $4,000

    • Maximum total for all specified items: $10,000

Cover is subject to the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions as stated in the relevant Product Disclosure Statement.

How Does It Work?

  • Choose the items you want to insure beyond the standard limit.

    • Specify the total value of each item (e.g. receipts can help determine this).

    • While proof of value (e.g. receipts) is not required at the time of purchase, be sure to have it readily available in case you need to make a claim.

    • Pay an additional premium for the increased coverage.

Why Consider Specified Items Cover?

  • This option offers cover for individual items up to the specified amount.

    • Depreciation does not apply to items insured with this add-on.

Is it Right for You?

Everyone's travel plans are different. Review Product Disclosure Statement and see if this additional coverage aligns with your needs and the value of your belongings.

How to Add the Option:

Simply select this option when purchasing your travel insurance policy. The items you specify will be listed on your Certificate of Insurance.

Important Considerations:

  • There are limits to the value of items you can insure with this add-on.

    • Cover for specified items is subject to the same terms and conditions stated in the Product Disclosure Statement.

    • This option is in addition to the luggage and personal effects coverage.
