Pet Insurance for your Dog

We know that dogs can get up to all sorts of mischief. That's why our Pet Insurance is here to help you with the unexpected vet bills, and make caring for your dog simple and straightforward.

When we have had to take Mushy to the vet it’s obviously not a fun time, but knowing I am backed by [Everyday] insurance gives us one less thing to worry about and the ability to focus on the wellness of our pup. I have recommended this product to many dog owner friends and in Chihuahua pages/groups based on the great customer service we have received every time.

We will continue to renew as we have had no issues at all and great service.

Illness cover

Illness cover includes treatment for an unexpected issue which requires a trip to the Vet. This includes some of the more common dog health issues that aren't a pre-existing condition or a general exclusion.

A 30 day waiting period applies to illness cover. Refer to the PDS for further details of illness cover.

Specified accidental injury cover

This is cover for those unexpected specified injuries. These are physical injuries such as a broken bone, an insect bite or wounds caused by an accident.

There is no waiting period for specified accidental injuries except for cruciate ligament conditions which have a 6 month waiting period. Refer to the PDS for further details of specified accidental injury cover.

What is GapOnly®?

Pet insurance that pays upfront

When your pet needs care, GapOnly® can simplify the Pet Insurance claims process.

With GapOnly®, participating vets can submit the claim and it will be processed in minutes. You claim on the spot and only pay the 'gap' - the gap is the difference between the vet's bill and your insurance benefit - on eligible claims.=

This means less out-of-pocket expenses, less waiting, less paperwork, and more time to focus on your pet's recovery.

Introducing GapOnly®

Why our customers picked Everyday Pet Insurance

It has been easy to deal with, quick payout, and very reasonable. We had a policy prior and they were wonderful and now we have a little puppy so we insured him immediately. If you have a dog, it is a necessity, not to mention the 10% discount at Woolies once a month.

Joanne, September 2023

I lodged my claim in the pet portal on Friday afternoon, I received an email at 11am Monday to say my claim had been approved and the funds sent to my bank.

I literally can’t thank you enough! It really took so much pressure off financially.

Frequently asked questions

Routine care is an optional non-insurance benefit available for Comprehensive and Comprehensive Plus Pet Insurance policyholders.

With routine care cover you can claim your $50 annual sub-limit on either:

  • Vaccinations
  • Health Checks

Plus another $50 for one of the following treatments:

  • Desexing
  • Microchipping
  • Prescription diets
  • Heartworm preventative
  • Obedience training (at Recognised Facility)
  • Dew claw removal
  • Cremation or burial
  • Council registration fees
  • Teeth cleaning
  • Behavioural therapy (By a qualified Animal Behavioural Therapist or vet)
  • Alternative Therapy
  • Dental Illness Treatment

If your pet has a pre-existing condition, you may not be covered for any related treatments or illnesses which happen as a result of the condition.

A pre-existing condition is:

  • A condition that existed or occurred prior to the commencement date of your first policy period or within any applicable waiting period.
  • A condition that you or your vet were aware of, or a reasonable person in your circumstances would have been aware of. This is irrespective of whether the underlying or causative condition was diagnosed at the time.

Whether it is a pre-existing condition will depend on its nature and experience. If your pet has a temporary condition that has not existed, occurred or shown noticeable signs, symptoms or an abnormality in the 18-month period immediately prior to your claim treatment date, it will no longer be excluded from cover as a pre-existing condition. Chronic Conditions and several other specified Conditions cannot fall within this category.

See your Product Disclosure Statement for more information and examples of pre-existing conditions.

You can apply to have Pre-existing Conditions Reviewed. See the Pre-existing Conditions page for more information.

When joining Everyday Pet Insurance, the waiting periods that apply are:

  • 30 days for conditions covered under the illness and specified conditions cover sections
  • 6 months for Cruciate Ligament Conditions.
  • 6 months for dental illness benefit if selected with Indoor Cat plan.

There is no waiting period for specified accidental injury cover.

For more information, please refer to the Pet Insurance Product Disclosure Statement.

For your convenience and to ensure continuity of cover for your pet, we will automatically renew your policy each year for as long as we continue to provide this product, and subject to the applicable terms and conditions of each policy.

We will send your renewal notice at least 14 days before your policy is due to expire and it will remind you to check your policy limits to see if the level of cover is still right for you.

You can opt-out of the automatic renewal process by contacting us. If you have chosen for your policy not to automatically renew, you will need to contact us each year to renew your cover.

You can use any vet (other than yourself) that is licensed to legally practice as a veterinarian in Australia.

Excess means an amount you contribute towards the cost of your claim(s), as shown on your certificate of insurance. The excess is calculated on a ‘per condition, per policy period’ basis. We do this for each condition treated that is unrelated to any other condition during the same policy period.

Your excess also applies to each emergency boarding claim event. The excess will be deducted from your calculated claim benefits after we apply any benefit limit, sub-limit and the benefit percentage to your claimed amount.
